结果状语从句表示的是从句是主句的结果。结果状语从句是状语从句中最简单的一种。和别的类型的状语从句有多种引导词不同，结果状语从句主要有三个句型：so that, so… that或such…that。

什么是结果状语从句

结果状语从句是表示由主句动作导致的结果，由一个句子来充当其状语的成分。结果状语从句常为that所引导的从句，而主句中通常含有such/so。

现在分词不能引导结果状语从句，只能引导结果状语。如：He came to school late,making his teacher angry.

1、so…that…的用法

在so…that…结构中，so是副词，修饰形容词或副词。引导结果状语从句时，通常用于以下结构：

（1）so+形容词/副词+that从句；例如：

He dressed so quickly that he put his shoes on the wrong feet.他穿鞋穿得太匆忙，以至于把鞋穿反了。

（2）so+many/ few+可数名词复数 +that从句；例如：

There were so many computers there that I didn't know how to choose a right one.那里的电脑太多了，我不知道如何选择一个合适的。

（3）so+much/little+不可数名词+that 从句；例如：

There was so much noise that l had to shout to her.太吵了，我不得不冲她大声叫喊。

（4）so+形容词+a（n）+可数名词单数 +that从句；例如：

David is so honest a man that he never tells lies.戴维是个诚实的人，他从不说谎。

2、such…that…的用法

在such…that…结构中，such是形容词，修饰名词或名词短语。引导结果状语从句时，通常用于以下结构：

（1）such+a（n）+形容词+可数名词单数+that从句；例如：

Harry Potter is such an interesting novel that l want to read it again.《哈利波特》是如此有趣的一部小说，我想再看一遍。

（2）such+形容词+可数名词复数+that从句；例如：

These youngsters dressed in such worn-out shoes that shoe strings seemed to be the only thing holding them together.这些年轻人穿着破旧的鞋子，鞋带似乎是唯一能把鞋绑在脚上的东西。

（3）such+形容词+不可数名词+that从句；例如：

She was in such low spirit that l feared for her sanity.她的情绪很低落，我担心她的精神状态。

3、so that的用法

so（that） 引导结果状语从句时，意为“以至于”，从句前有时用逗号与主句分开。例如：

Supermarket trolleys are actually getting bigger so that we buy more.实际上超市手推车越来越大，以至于我们买得更多。

He didn't plan his time well, so that he didn't finish his work on time.他没有好好地计划他的时间，以至于没有按时完成工作。
