1、study和learn意思相近。但有差别。study指较高阶段的学习，故有研究之义。learn 侧重于学的成果，常译为“学到，学会”，study 侧重于学习过程。比如：

Today I learnt how to use the new software.

今天我学会了怎样使用这个新软件。

The boy studied hard and learned English well.

2、从搭配上看，当表示“向……学习”时，要用learn from，不能用study from。比如：

He is a good student and we should learn from him.
